Beamish Museum
Beamish Museum Beamish Museum attempts to recreate a bygone age with 'living' architecture. It has created a town with a working railway and station, a coal mine and a farm.
The museum has specialised in carefully dismantling and meticulously re-constructing redundant buildings, to enhance the visitor experience. Doonan Architects has prepared measured drawings, secured planning permission and prepared constructional details for the museum's staff to complete the projects on site.
Individual buildings include a coal fired chip shop, a mining village band hall, pit pony stables, access ramp to café building and bakery.
