Thropton Music Centre
This Victorian listed church has been converted into a music centre for the Coquetdale Music Trust. It provides a large flexible multipurpose performance space, recording studio, acoustic drum room and mezzanine area with views into the main hall.
The new spaces were carefully designed to ensure the original character of the church was retained.
The works involved the careful upgrading of the original fabric of the church to ensure suitable acoustic performance, so the building can be used as a recording studio and performance space without the interruption of external noise or disturbance to the surrounding properties.
