The Team

The team consists of Architects including two accredited in building conservation, architectural assistants, architectural technologists, planner and office manager providing leading architectural services in Tynedale.

Kevin Doonan DIP.ARCH (Dist), RIBA, AABC


Along with being a qualified architect, Kevin is also an Accredited Architect in Building Conservation (AABC), a member of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle Historic Buildings Committee and is the Cathedral Architect for St Mary's RC Cathedral in Newcastle. The practice has been under his guidance since 1985.

Tristan Spicer BA, BARCH, RIBA, AABC


Associate Joining the practice in 1999, Tristan became an Associate in 2005. Along with being a qualified architect Tristan is also AABC registered. Tristan has worked on many historic buildings/schedule monument projects, often involving complex funding arrangements.

Kate Wilson BA, BARCH, RIBA


Kate, a qualified architect, joined the practice in 2009, and became an Associate in 2012. Kate is seconded to Newcastle University providing studio tutoring to Part 1 architecture students. Kate has worked on several prestigious projects for the practice, Close House, Chesters Stud and Walwick Hall. Kate is currently preparing a portfolio of work to register with AABC.

Debbie Longlands BA, MRTPI

Planner and Office Manager

Debbie has only recently joined the practice as office manager. However, she also brings her expertise in both national and local planning policies, so that the practice can provide advice on planning to clients.



Jenny recently became a qualified architect and brings new and exciting ideas to the business.

Allan McGregor-Smith MCIAT

Senior Architectural Technologist

Allan has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry specialising in the fields of education, medical, housing and commercial.

Peter Rickman BA

Architectural Assistant

Peter is currently working towards Part 2 RIBA qualification. Peter is responsible for maintaining the IT systems in the practice.

Paul Biggins ACIAT

Architectural Technologist

Paul is an architectural technologist with wide experience which includes 'hands on' in construction projects so brings intimate knowledge of the practicalities of building construction to the practice.
